It is surrounded by houses and has a turtle spawning point. Its sand is yellowish and smooth and there are few commercial establishments near the beach. It is recommended to bring drinks and food if you are going to spend the day. Other types of sports that can be practiced on the beach are fishing and diving.
Engenho beach
Part of Saco do Mamanguá, Praia do Engenho is far from the usual schooner rides and offers visitors a much more exclusive experience. With always calm waters and dense vegetation, this beach is ideal for spending the day with almost no one around. The strip of fine white sand is marked by the large almond tree in the center, where there is also a small house. Walking a little further inland, it is possible to find remnants of an old sugar cane mill. Praia do Engenho offers a pier for small boats and is a delightful walk for those visiting Saco do Mamanguá.
